A knitted piece can be transported without any problems thanks to addiToGo, the stitches are secured to the needle. 

Press and hold the chosen heart to open the two holes. Now push a needle point of your circular needle into each hole. Release the pressure and slide the heart on the needles to a place where it fits well. You can also slide it along the needle tips to the rope. Now you can transport your project without fear of losing stitches.

you can also secure your needle set for on-the-go with the big heart. To do this, simply stow all 5 needles (up to needle size 3.5 mm) in one of the holes.
If you have a knitting project on your needle set, you can secure it with two hearts at each end.

With the larger heart, you can also transport the trios in the smaller thicknesses and keep them together. Even if you already have a pair of socks in the works, you can keep the knitted piece from ribbing while you're on the go. Simply lay all three trios on top of each other, and bend them in the middle so that the needle tips are parallel. Now push three needle tips into one hole at a time. Holds wonderfully and is probably the smallest solution for transporting sock projects.
