What is Double Gauze?
Double gauze is a fine and light cotton fabric consisting of two layers of fabric that are interwoven to lock them together.
Most double gauze fabrics have a bubble textured look but flat gauze does also exist.
The textured look is a result of twisting the threads before weaving causing the tension of the yarns to pul the fabric in different direction. After washing this texture becomes more noticable due to remainign fabric shrinkage.
What is Double Gauze used for?
Double gauze is a lightweight and breathable fabric which can be used for garment sewing all year round.
It is fantastic for Baby Rompers, Maxi Dresses, Kaftans, Blouses and more. It is easy to care for and great for combining with other pieces you may already have in your wardrobe.
