The brioche selvedge is not only a beautiful finish, it also helps to stabilize the soft loop. The pattern (suitable for beginners) includes details for a neck-hugging cowl, comparable to a wide turtleneck, which is knitted from only one ball of yarn; or a warming infinity scarf (knitted from two balls), long enough to comfortably wrap twice around your neck.
