Invitation to join the Summer Sock Knitting Club 2023

Summer is finally here! With warmer weather and longer days, we are spending more time outside, travelling and visiting friends and family.

As makers, our need for creativity means that we all love to keep our hands busy no matter where we are.

If you are looking for a fun and portable summer project, we highly recommend that you give sock knitting a go! All you need is a set of knitting needles, and a skein of yarn. This is a project that can fit easily in your purse, and versatile enough for a few quick minutes of knitting, or hours of peaceful, quiet knitting.  This means that you can knit pretty much anywhere, in the car, on a plane, in your backyard, at the park, beach, on the bus.. You get the idea.

Never knit socks before? Veteran sock knitter but would love to have a community to hang out in and discuss all things socks? Join Mimi’s first annual Summer Sock Knitting Club on Facebook, where you can hang out with other sock knitters, and enjoy a fun summer of sock knitting.

Let’s start right at the beginning.

The most basic way to look at it is - FIBRE to THREAD/YARN to FABRIC

Once we start delving into the details, it gets just a teeny bit complex.

By 2022-04-07 22:38:00

If you love all things peplum and ruffles then changes are that you are doing tons of gathering in your sewing endeavours.

While there are many different ways to achieve a beautifully spcaced ruffle or gather, the serger method is my absolute favorite one.

In the video instructions we have used the Baby Lock Victory serger and Madeira Serger threads but any serger machine can do this!

It's fast, it's easy and it looks amazing.
